What does this look like to you? A piece of wood, right?







Wrong. It's a replica of a piece of wood my husband fabricated out of metal. Isn't he talented?

He is building decorative dividers for a restaurant at one of the lodges at Brianhead and these are the posts - sturdy but with all the ambiance of the mountains. They aren't complete yet but I had to share.

Yes, we survived it.

Because of my increased involvement with international recruitment at SUU, Andy and I had the opportunity to take 35 SUU students (mostly international) on a hike to Zions on Saturday. I'll be honest, I was a little stressed out about the whole ordeal but fortunately it went off without a hitch. We had students from:

Nepal
France
China
Ireland
Korea
Switzerland
Austria
Japan
India
Columbia
Hong Kong
And the good old USA

We did the Canyon Overlook Hike. I had never done it before and we really enjoyed it.

It has been such a delight to get to know some of these students. I'm glad they're in my life. I am also so glad that my husband is willing to go on just about any adventure with me. He jokes that he lived in Southern Utah for about 5 years and never went to Zions, but since we've been married, we've been over 3 times.

One of my favorites nights

Last night was our first card group of the year. Being able to host our card making group in my tiny little house is one of my favorite nights! We get together and exchange hand made cards centered around a particular theme. Last night was birthday cards. Once cards are exchanged we eat and work on some sort of art or craft project. Last night we made bangles from cut up PVC pipes wrapped in fun fabrics.


But most importantly we ate. The menu:

None of it was homemade, but all of it was delish. Thanks for coming ladies and I am excited for next month!

In Cedar City

We spent the weekend in Cedar City. We went to the cruise night with the Marshalls & the Chestnuts.


We went to the farmer's market and saw this gorgeous little rooster. I wanted to take it home.

And also picked up these beauties - golden cherry tomatoes.

We went to the rodeo.


And made Curry Chicken Skewers.

I love living in Cedar City.

Last night was the first home football game. It was a full house so we didn't even get a seat!
