I am a Bishop's Daughter - Uh Oh!

MEET BISHOP BINGHAM

My dad was set apart as Bishop of the Randolph First Ward this
past weekend.  It was very special and we know he will do a
great job.  We are so happy we got to be there for the occasion.
Andy and I got to speak in another ward sacrament meeting with
my dad (because he was a high councilmen) literally minutes
before he was put in as the bishop.  Our prayers are with both
my mom and dad as they embark on this life-changing journey.
From the moment we have known about my dad's calling anytime
I act a little bit naughty (which is often) Andy teases me that
I am already being a "Bishop's Daughter".  :)

Bingham Family Reunion

Here's what I captured from the day. It was a great time! I have always loved my Bingham cousins and now I love their husbands, wives and kids.

New Car

Yep, the Passat is sold. It is kind of sad. This car has been through some incredible years with me: lots of trips to be with my future husband, to get my master's degree, to go shopping, and A LOT of work travel.

But, on to bigger and better things! We bought a Volkswagon Touareg this weekend and we love it! This picture cracks us up. It is from the Volkswagon home page. Less than 24 hours within owning our Touareg, we did take it onto the beach at Bear Lake, and it blasted through the sand exactly like this. Well, kinda.

We decided to celebrate our purchase by eating at The Cheesecake Factory. Yum.

And our first fuel-up:

It is a 2004 and is charcoal-greenish. There's nothing like a new car! We are going to be giddy for a while.

July Jamboree

Every year Cedar City hosts the July Jamboree Car Show. The day starts out with breakfast at the Garden House and then all the classic cars go on a ride up to Brianhead. Later in the day, all of the cars are parked up and down main street and there is a big festival with live music, food, and most importantly FUNNEL CAKES. The past 2 years we have entered Andy's 1954 Packard Panama Super Clipper and it is always a good time. This year we brought chairs and camped out by the car. People think the cars are the show, but people watching is the real hit!

Fajitas and Friends

We had Craig and Julie over for fajitas on the grill. They are getting married in 1 month and we are so excited for them. The whole evening was pretty much wedding talk! I loved it.

I think I am married to the next food network star. It was delish.

4th of July Weekend

We had a much needed low-key 4th of July which involved a parade, snow cones, and watching fireworks from a mattress in the back of Andy's truck. It was a perfect view and very private.

We had to mess with the "fireworks" setting my camera happens to have.

Saturday we ventured to the farmers market in St. George and bought a basil plant. On our way home from St. George, we stopped in the old ghost town of Silver Reef and explored for a bit. Then we ate at The Cosmopolitan Restaurant in Silver Reef. The food was incredible and very unique. Andy had Bison and I had Hungarian Goulash. I highly recommend trying this place out.

On Sunday we tried some new recipes. Sweet Soy-Grilled Short Ribs with sticky rice and Chickpea & Romaine Salad with Lemon-Parmesan Vinaigrette. They were both very easy and turned out great. Click the links to try them for yourself.

Doug Bingham Family Reunion 2008

We had a quick getaway to Bear Lake for our family reunion. From boating, hiking and crafting to the Pickleville Playhouse melodrama, it was a smashing time! The highlights of the weekend included:

1. Making the traditional family breakfast of Eggs Golden. Have you ever seen these commercials called SprintCuts? They are pretty hilarious and when I saw Kevin and Holly with a pot full of boiled eggs to peel I knew we had to try it out. It did work once or twice but when they say exhale with gusto, they mean it!

2. Bicycle Built for 6. Riding these fun bicycles on the bike trail was a hit and we were fortunate enough to run into a cute little lemonade stand right when we were panting and thirsty.

3. Pranking on the Beach. We put Natalee up to dumping water on Andy and you can see the mischief in her face!


4. Boating, tubing, and skiing. I love this picture because Ally is giving the signal to cut it and Andy is giving the signal to speed up.





This is me lounging in the boat, but I did water ski, it just didn't get photographed!
