The 4th in Phoenix

At the last minute, we decided to go to Phoenix for the Fourth of July since Andy's brother Matt's band, the Joey Arroyo Band, was headlining a show at the Marquee Theatre. It turned into a great little road trip. Here are the highlights:

1. THE DRIVE: Gorgeous.
From Lake Powell and Page to the Colorado River and Flagstaff, it was so scenic driving to and from our destination.

2. THE FOOD: Delicious.
We had to stop in Flagstaff for lunch at Brandy's Bakery & Restaurant which we saw on Diners Drive-ins & Dives. It was pretty yummy.

Other stops included RA Sushi in Old Town Scottsdale,

Lo-Lo's Chicken and Waffles,

Our big jars of Red Kool Aid!

The crew (including Matt's cool friend Stevo) outside Lo Lo's - life changing food!

Oregano's Chicago-style pizza,

and Liberty Market for breakfast.

3. THE ENTERTAINMENT: Wonderful.
The show at the Marque Theatre was awesome; we are really glad we made the trip for it.

We stayed at the Millenium Resort at McCormick Ranch and really enjoyed the pool since it was 100+ degrees around the clock. This is the view from our room:

Shopping was had at Fashion Square in Scottsdale. We hit up a car show and played with Matt's new teacup chihuahua, Tyrone. He's so cute! Pictures of Tyrone coming soon. And we can't forget about some of the cool architecture we saw:

SUCH A FUN TRIP.

We LOVE Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives so I'm excited that you tried that place in Flagstaff out! We went to a place in PHX last year - Chino Bandido -- Two thumbs up! Looks like a blast of a trip. Fun, fun!!

Looks like a lot of fun. Maybe we need to travel with you guys. When we went to Arizona we didn't love it. But you guys seemed to know where to go.

We did. Some of our good friends lived there while going to law school and they gave us the heads up. And Matt & Stevo have their pulse on what is cool. Yes, you should travel with us! :)

This looks so fun and so awesome! You two must be having a blast together. That's awesome that you took all those pics to tell the story, I need to work on that. Was that bridge pic at the Lake Mead dam? We went across there a few months ago and I just couldn't even believe it. It's amazing. Glad you had fun!

That's funny, my parents were in Phoenix over the 4th. It looks like you had a lot more fun though! Who ever came up with chicken and waffles, is it me or is that just wierd!
