Southern California Vacation

We recently took a vacation to Southern California and it was so much fun.  I really wanted to hit up the gourmet food trucks and I found the coolest spot in my research.  It is called So Cal Collection and it is in Costa Mesa.  It is this little collection of shops and boutiques and fabulous design.  Before the shops opened, there was a farmers market in the parking lot with .... FOOD TRUCKS!

SO CAL COLLECTION

Succulents

My food truck breakfast.  Divine.
Made me want some white pencils.

Macy was pooped.
FASHION DISTRICT
Next it was on to the LA Fashion District or Garment District.  Macy slept the hour-and-a-half there so, nap time: check.  En route, however, we stumbled across the "car audio district".  So hilarious.  We felt like we were instantly in another country.  Everywhere you looked cars were getting pimped out.  It was trippy!

Fashion District
This store was totally what I envisioned the fashion district to be like.

And I scored some sweet clothes there.

Then, we went to the Santa Anna Alleys - it was like China Town meets Tijuana.  Knock off shoes, purses, clothes, watches, and more.  Intense shopping fun.

We had lunch at the Yard House. Yum.

MUSEUM HOPPING
Next, we went to the Architecture and Design Museum of Los Angeles which was featuring an EAMES exhibit.

Another random gallery we stumbled onto.
Then we went to LACMA - Los Angeles Contemporary Museum of Art.  They were featuring the Metropolis exhibit which Andy was so excited about.  It has hundreds of hot wheels cars racing on this track.  It's pretty incredible.

Urban Light - just outside of LACMA

SWIMMING
Lookout, Macy is coming through.

These two loved swimming.

SAN CLEMENTE PIER

This place was magical.

We met up with my dear friend Jessica & ate at Fisherman on the Pier

OCEANSIDE
Oceanside Harbor

Macy loved the beach and the waves.

And feeding the seagulls.

And she would have stayed in the water all day

But we were freezing!

So we jumped in the heated pools at our condo.

CARLSBAD DANISH BAKERY

Met up with these lovely people in Carlsbad
EXPLORING BEACH TOWNS

We found a fun little park on the beach in Encinitas

And this magical place in Solana Beach
It was such a refreshing getaway.  Next year, we're going to have to brave Disneyland!
